Project Engineer

The Project Engineer is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) that works closely with Project Managers to act as a liaison between clients, contractors, and BNP. The Project Engineer can have a variety of responsibilities based on their incoming experience and BNP’s needs, including production of building information models (BIM), collaboration with Designers and Senior Designers to manage drawing package development, system simulations, flight schedule analyses, and field work encompassing on-site analyses such as inspections, surveys, product approvals, and equipment tests. The Project Engineer is also responsible for developing design reports and specification documents for client submittal as the project progresses.

Responsibilities

This position requires an enthusiastic person willing to adjust to a wide variety of responsibilities working in both an office and field environment. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Organizing and controlling project tasks
  • Verifying compliance to project specifications to ensure that customer requirements and performance standards are met by contractors
  • Developing project specifications in coordination with the Project Manager
  • Performing technical studies and cost estimates
  • Monitoring project schedule and progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
  • Confirming systems performance by designing and conducting tests
  • Preparing project status reports
  • Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
  • Performing site inspections
  • Maintain BNP's professional standards and enhance company reputation
Qualifications

Required:

  • Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Basic Microsoft Office Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams etc.)
  • Ability to Multi-task on projects
  • Flexibility to travel on a regular basis
  • Ability to work irregular hours (such as late shifts) when needed
  • Ability to work extra time when needed to meet project deadlines

Desired:

  • Prior experience working on Automated Material Handling Systems Operations is highly desired
  • Experience with project scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
  • Working knowledge of CAD and/or Revit
Education

  • Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or Aeronautical Engineering

The successful candidate must be able to pass federal background checks and screening to obtain Airport Security Badges.

Designer/Drafter

The Designer is responsible for drafting, modeling, and digitizing system design options and drawing packages to accompany reports and specifications submitted to clients. The Designer uses architectural modeling programs Revit and AutoCAD to model the drawing packages based on field reports, surveys, and architectural models acquired from clients.

Responsibilities

This position requires an enthusiastic person willing to adjust to a wide variety of responsibilities working in both an office and field environment. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Organizing and controlling project tasks
  • Designing baggage and cargo facility layouts.
  • Maintain BNP's professional standards and enhance company reputation
Qualifications

  • Proficiency with either AutoCAD or Revit software
  • Ability to pay attention to detail/be detail oriented
  • Ability to work well in both a team environment and independently under minimal supervision
  • Motivation to succeed
Education

  • An associates or equivalent degree in mechanical drawing, CAD, and/or BIM is preferred but not required if experienced
